The Oahe Child Development Center will remain closed during this challenging time. However, we are looking to the next school year and have opened our enrollment process. Applications can be found online or you can call and request that one be mailed to you. The applications can be submitted online, mailed, or dropped off at the dropbox in front of 2307 E. Capitol St.

The Pierre School District will now offer meals to our Head Start and Early Head Start children. Please see the location and times listed below.

Due to the statewide closure of schools to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Oahe Child Development Center will also be closed until further notice. We have attached an In-Kind sheet to complete with your child/ren for next week. Due to the closure, you will be able to complete up to 8 hours per day of In-Kind, instead of the usual 4 hours per day. Thank you.
OCDC staff will be contacting each family during this closure time. Packets have been mailed to each family for a variety of items to work on with your Head Start / Early Head Start child.
OCDC will communicate thru School Messenger and Facebook and Website.
Working together until we see each other again.
Starting Monday, March 9th, parking lot construction will begin at the Oahe Child Development Center, Capitol Ave location.
NO PARKING in PHASE 1 AREA starting Monday, March 9th.
Parking will be limited and we encourage parents and community members to park on Capitol Ave in front of the building. Plan accordingly by adding a little extra time to your routine.
A Parent Letter and Map have been sent home with full day classroom students.
After-school Program pickup door will change to Door “I” during the first part of construction.
All parents who have family and friends helping with transportation to and from OCDC you will need to update them about the parking lot construction.
During Phase I – Jefferson Bus and Transit Buses will continue to use front entrance curb area.
Spring has sprung and construction will begin on Monday, March 9th.
