About Us

Head Start is governed by the Policy Council and Board of Directors.

The members of the Policy Council represent both the Early Head Start and Head Start in their area. Policy Council meets one night each month and are involved in a variety of committees. Policy Council members report at the parent (committee) meetings regarding what is taking place with Policy Council. All parents of enrolled children are part of the parent committee.

The Board of Directors consists of members in the community, with at least one person with a background in fiscal management or accounting, early childhood education, and a licensed attorney. Other Board members are reflective of the community served. The Board of Director’s also have monthly meetings.
