Terms of Employment
This is a contracted employee and reports to the OCDC Board of Directors.
Position will perform to the satisfaction of the OCDC Board of Directors.
The position oversees a staff of 46 employees.
Position Location
The Director will work from the OCDC offices except for required travel.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of baccalaureate degree and experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration.
- Ability to pass all criminal background checks.
- Will be required to complete an initial health examination that includes screeners or tests for communicable diseases, as appropriate.
- High visibility and engagement with board and staff.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Provide a strategic vision for OCDC.
- Hold self and others accountable to high standards of performance.
- Ability to deal directly and fairly with board members, staff, and parents.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills as well as computer skills.
- Have the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Must be able to advocate for low-income families and those with special needs within the community.
- Able to work evenings and travel if necessary.

The position directly supervises 22 employees.

- Minimum of baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education or a baccalaureate or advanced degree and equivalent coursework in early childhood education with early education teaching experience.
- Ability to pass all criminal background checks.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills as well as computer skills.
- Have the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Must be able to advocate for low-income families and those with special needs within the community.
- Able to work evenings and travel if necessary.

- Must be fair and consistent with expectations and skilled in giving constructive feedback.
